Utah Jazz stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert’s relationship “Doesn’t appear salvageable,” a source told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Mitchell’s frustration with Gobert is what is putting a strain on their friendship. And rightfully so.

Gobert was treating Coronavirus like a joke. During a media session on Mar. 9, he decided to touch all over reporters’ microphones and voice recorders. Two days later, he tested positive for Coronavirus, earning himself a new nickname - “NBA’s Patient Zero”.

Due to his negligence, Gobert is believed to have infected Mitchell and countless others across the league, as he played multiple games between the time he touched the microphones and was tested.

Their teammate Joe Ingles took to Twitter in an attempt to downplay the entire situation. “I’m confident our team is going to be totally fine,” said Ingles.

Though Gobert has apologized, it seems Mitchell is not ready to accept that apology. Luckily for the Jazz organization, there is nothing but time and opportunity to try all they can to mend that relationship.
